  CHAPTER 1

  GRACE

If you could define yourself with words, which ones would you choose?

I often wonder about this prospect as I watch people walking in the streets. I define some of them as naive fools. Some of them are perfect liars, and some of them are like me. How would they define me?

As a killer? Or a survivor?

“He won’t talk, Knight. Do you want to take over?”

I can hear Josh yelling through the half-opened door. Finally, my time is here. I can already imagine how much fun I’m going to have with the man currently strapped down in front of me.

  “Knight, are you there?”

“Of course, darling.” I grin as I open the door. My eyes are on Josh, but I can already feel his desperate gaze on me. Dragging my attention from my friend/partner/fuck buddy to the bloodied man, I am face to face with a man who looks like he has lived on drugs more than any normal food. The stench of blood makes it harder to walk close to him, but I continue until I am standing in front of him.

“He won’t talk, you say?” I ask Josh, to be clear. He nods excitedly, waiting for me to start torturing the unamused man.

“A girl.” The man watches me in disbelief. “You are a girl.”

Leaning down to his level, I have to wipe the blood from his swelling eyes. The moment I touch him, he flinches, trying to get away, but due to the tight ropes binding him, he only manages to knock his head hard in the chair.

“Yes, darling. I’m a girl. Why? Did you not see this amazing body?” I run my fingers over my neck, smiling, but he only stares at my cold eyes.

Hmmm…he is still in shock. Fine by me.

“Y-You are a girl, and you’ve been wipin’ out MCs? How the fuck is that possible!?” he finally screams, thrashing around to get out. “I will never rat out my people. Punch me. Kill me. I don’t care! You hear me, silly girl?”

Kill him. Show him who he is messing with.

“I will never—” Before he can say more, I reach for his mouth, capturing it. He freezes when my tongue comes out to taste his bottom lips. They are mixed with blood, but hell if that was a problem ever. He only takes a second to push his blunt shock from his eyes before he is furiously kissing me back. I pull his hair, shoving my tongue into his inviting mouth, which earns him a frustrated groan. I can hear a distant damn, not again retort from Josh. But I get what I want.

  The element of surprise.

The man thought that, like Josh, I’m going to punch him, shoot him, or worse, kill him. Oh no, I don’t do that shit. I play. I play games. I play with minds. Let them think they are in control when I’m the one breaking their heart and pride like every other MC I’ve wiped out. And soon, his own will also face the same fate as the others.

“That’s enough, Knight.” Hearing Josh scream, finally leaving a little nip, I release the man’s lips. He is panting heavily, and his eyes are hooded.

  Perfect.

“Knight.” The warning in Josh’s voice is as clear as day as I look at the confused, horny man. Turning around, I see Josh’s jaw clenched with obvious anger. He strides around the room, mumbling curses, but I have yet to react. It was hilarious to see him flip out every time someone else other than him even kissed me on the cheek.

“What? You jealous?” I laugh, noticing his fists turning red. Josh doesn’t say anything, but the man has obviously had enough as he frowns, looking at both of us curiously.

“Why did you kiss me? I thought—”

“That I will kill you? Torture you?” Game’s over. Time to go back to business. I shake my head, chuckling. “I don’t do that stuff, Michel. And the reason you are here, it’s not quite because I want to wipe your club out. Because I want you to be the man everyone talks about when they hear the club’s name.”

He couldn’t have looked any more shocked. “W-what? Y-you would do that? F-for me?”

“Hmm,” I hum, kneeling to his level. I can see him trying not to look at my lips, but he fails as his eyes are already hooded again. “I like your strength, your loyalty. And I guess that just changed my mind about you. So much so that I have a proposition for you. Well, if you want a demonstration like that again…” I trail off, touching his trembling lips, a chipped part of my nails almost drawing blood. “I need the name of the current President of your MC. I need to bring him down to make you the new President.”

  Hook, line, sinker.

I have his attention. And lucky for me, it looks like he hates his Prez, because a grimace forms on his face immediately.

He still sounds hesitant as he says, “You sure up for it? To take him down?”

“If the prize is you, then yes,” I answer with a flirty wink. I’m barely able to force my smirk down when I finally hear the name I was waiting to know for the last four months.

  “Lethal. We call him Lethal.”

  Lethal…

Something stirs in me hearing the name. A feeling so unknown. It must be the excitement of finally finishing the fuckers. I’m not about to waste my breath staying in the Southside of Chicago if I don’t destroy every MC in this area. I have a promise to keep. Smiling, I gesture toward Josh, and he understands immediately what I mean because the next moment, he is kissing me with a brutal force. Punishment. It is punishment for kissing the man we both hate.

Breathing hard, I open my eyes to see Michel yelling at Josh to stay away from me. At that moment, Josh draws the gun and holds it up, pointing it at Michel’s head. Michel’s eyes widen and meet mine in shock, anger, and disappointment. He only notices the barely there smirk before my cold voice is echoing through the room.
/>
“Finish him. And don’t forget to throw his body parts in the clubhouse.”

With that, I turn around and close the door on my way out. I can hear yelling, calling my name, screaming, and then finally that sweet sound of a gunshot. And as Josh never misses, I can proudly say that…

  Michel’s dead.

Now, I have to find this Lethal and kill him with his own poison.

  CHAPTER 2

  LETHAL

“Then in two weeks, every member of that club was found dead because someone had burned them alive. So help me God, if I—”

“That means you’re a fuckin’ coward just like others.” I scoff, pushing the back door open. The Devil’s Shadow MC has been my everything. My home and hell altogether. I’m not surprised to sniff the air around the clubhouse and find it thick with blood and sex. Just the moment we are outside, I see some of them chilling with their girls while others fool around with the club whores. But as it’s Saturday, it’s pretty normal for the Devils to get wild.

“But Lethal, you know doing nothin’ will put our members in danger. You might be fearless, but Devils are our family. We don’t turn our back on our own. And right now, not everyone will say it to your face, but secretly, they all are s-sacred.” Sniper starts stuttering when my hard glare cuts through him. He is our secretary and the most trusted one in the club. But sometimes, he just doesn’t get it. I make sure no one can get past my club and harm my members.

I am called Lethal for a reason.

I trust no one. I kill any fucker who dares to cross me. I can kill with my eyes closed if it means the safety of the Devils.

“Leave, Sniper. I have a job to do.” My voice is hard. Girls thought the same about my cock, but none of them dared to come and ask for sex. Not that I would agree in the first place. My fists are more trustworthy than any girls anyway. And my personality seems to be a major turn off, as all the other Devils joke sometimes when they think I’m not listening to them. I don’t care if it’s someone’s first time or if they harbor feelings and shit. They only stare at me from afar.

  “Hi, baby.”

Except if it’s Foxy. She’s a pain in the ass.

Her slender fingers trail down until she is cupping my cock through my jeans, giving me that look.

  Fucking hell.

“Why don’t you come to my room? I will show ya a good time,” she purrs, biting her lip. I trail my eyes along my body as she also looks down to where her hands are. No hardness. Nothing. See? I told you my cock is the only thing that is trustworthy. It doesn’t get hard just at anyone’s touch.

“You done playing?” She gives me a pout but, thankfully, pulls her hand out from where it doesn’t belong. I could’ve told her off more if there wasn’t a commotion coming from the club’s entrance. Foxy shares a look with me before we both pull out our guns and start walking toward the screaming and yelling. When we reach the place, there is a crowd of Devils yelling at how it is unfair.

Nothing can be unfair when I’m still alive.

“He can’t be gone! I talked to him last night. He was fine. He just…how could they!” I stare at the crying mess of a girl in the middle of the crowd with narrowed eyes. I’ve seen her a few times in the club hanging out with Michel and Maddox before. Lifting the gun so it is directly aimed at her head, I speak calmly.

  “What is it?”

Her eyes whip around until they meet mine. They widen, making her stand up clumsily. Before she can reach me, however, Foxy stops her.

“You heard the Prez. What is it?”

The girl glances at me and Foxy before she starts whimpering. “Michel…he’s dead! They sent the body parts to my home this morning. I warned him. I fuckin’ warned him not to mingle with the wrong crowd, to not go there, but he still did. That fucker left me with a broken heart and a fuckin’ baby!”

  Michel was dead.

That fucker managed to kill himself.

A dark chuckle leaves my lips, and she freezes. I’m pretty sure she wanted me to get angry, but I am relieved. Maddox and Michel weren’t exactly loyal to the club. They had their own share of betrayals lying around. The only reason they were even alive was that they both had kids. I might be cruel but not so cruel as to have a son deprived of his father. But if the father was anything like him, then maybe…

  “Who killed him?”

She stammers before whispering, “The Knights.”

Now that’s a new name. “Are they new to the game?”

She shakes her head. “No, they’re the ones wipin’ the MCs off in this town. Michel was tryin’ to track them down for months. He told me it was the Knights, but I never got a picture or an address. Last night, he went to their home, hopin’ he would bring their head back and ask for a—” Her eyes widen with an alarming pause.

“Asking for what?” I ask, cocking the gun carelessly. Hell, if Michel was alive, he would have a heart attack seeing his old lady being threatened. But, then again, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t really mind, considering he was warming other women’s beds when he was still alive.

  Fucking asshole.

“Asking for a—,” she looks around at the Devils, gulping, “asking for a rematch. He wanted your place. I’m sorry, Prez! I’m so sorry. Don’t kill me.”

  Hmm…I should thank the Knights.

“Prez, should we kill her?” a Devil asks, aiming his gun at her head. She whimpers in fear again.

  Tsk. Tsk. She’s too predictable.

“No.” I smirk. “I won’t kill her if she can bring the Knights to us.”

She nods repeatedly, thanking me. When she is out of sight, Foxy touches my arm, bringing my attention to her.

“You’re actually goin’ to finish them?” she asks. I give her the same harsh look I gave Sniper, and she hurriedly walks out of my way.

  Knights…

I taste the name on my tongue. The killer in me fucking respects the Knights for getting rid of a fucker like Michel from this world. After all, we all are the same. But they declared war the moment they sent the body of a Devil to the clubhouse. For that reason, they have to go. They must suffer. And when I get my hands on them…

They will be fucking sorry to cross a Devil.

  CHAPTER 3

  GRACE

  The night is cold.

But my heart is even colder.

Dabbing blush on my cheeks, I pull off my dress. Taking the black lacy bra near me, I put it on first. Leaving my thong where it was, I finally put on a coat, hiding the fact that I am nearly naked under the long, warm cloth.

“You sure about this, Knight?” Josh asks again. It is foolish of me to not understand the warning behind his words.

I am doing this. I must do this.

“Give me the gun, please.” He hesitates before handing me a holster and my precious gun. Lifting the hem of the coat, I strap the holster near my thigh and shove the gun into it.

“Grace—” Josh lets out a whisper. “You know I could find that fucker myself. You don’t have to go through it. Not like this.”

Finally, my eyes meet his. Smiling, I wrap my fingers into his hair, pulling him down to meet my lips. He eagerly kisses my mouth, determined to prove to me that he will never leave me when I need him.

That’s why we work better. He always respects my decisions. No matter how dangerous or risky they are. Without any questions, he is there for me when I need strength. When I doubt myself. When I need someone to keep me sane.

“Hmm,” he moans, finally releasing my lips. He reminds me as I fix my lipstick, coating my lips in a ruby red, “Remember, one call and we are out of the club.”

  “I know. Now let’s go.”

  ***

Pulling open the door of the club, I am surrounded by the harsh lighting and the loud screams of men watching the girls pole dancing their hearts out. What did I even expect from a strip club? Today, I’m one of them. Today, I’m not Grace Knight. I’m someone else. Someone I hate to love.

  “Name?” A bou
ncer stops me, showing me his impressive ability to not sound rude.

Hey, at least he had manners.

“Jade Evans,” I reply with a sultry smile. Giving me a once-over, he shares the same look before he motions for me to follow him. Grimacing, I follow him between the dancing members to a dark room.

“Change and get your fat ass on the stage.” With that, he closes the door with a bang. When I’m sure he is gone, I remove my coat, revealing the black number on my body. My so-called friends used to call me a skinny bitch. Not anymore. Now there are curves where there used to be bones. Josh loves to flaunt that in my ears how he loves them. But today, other men will appreciate them. They’ll make comments, but I’ll ignore them.

  I’m not here for them.

  I am here for Lethal.

After killing Michel and sending his body parts to his girlfriend’s house, we got the information that he was going to be in this club with his other Devils to make a deal. This is the perfect opportunity to see the man I need to kill. And if I get more than that, then I will be one lucky bitch.

A loud knock on the door suddenly throws me off from my wayward thoughts. Unstrapping the holster, I put the gun behind the clothes section. Looking at myself in the mirror again, I am satisfied to see a wanton woman looking back at me.

That means I can spend the night without cringing.

The bouncer doesn’t say a word when I come out of the room. He only grunts a few replies to the people nodding at him. But I do notice his eyes straying downstairs a few times. No problem, though. He’s only allowed to watch, not touch.

I have Cornwall to thank for that.

He might be a sleazy old pimp, but he at least has some rules to follow. One of them was his men can never touch the girls he buys. And if anyone breaks them, he kills them on the spot. I have nothing to worry about with his men. But the guests, on the other hand…
